I realized a connection as I watch old episodes of Deadliest Catch. I know as a child I viewed a broadcast featuring Captain Phil Harris. They presented the bird houses he made, which were spectacular. Then, came Deadliest Catch. Viewers able to see his work, humor and family function as well as the loss of him.
He was my favorite captain to watch. Viewing the old episodes makes me laugh just as much. However, I feel sorrow and wonder how his kids feel watching the old episodes. The filming is a lot like a home movie of high quality. His sons can remember times with him, but watching episodes they can see it all again.
